Harrison LLP welcomes Partner Laura Jensen to its Chicago office. Laura joins the firm with over twelve years of experience in comprehensive estate planning for individuals, families, business owners, and high net worth clients. She crafts highly customized estate plans that thoughtfully address family dynamics, business interests, charitable goals, and long term wealth preservation.
Laura received her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law and is admitted in both Illinois and Iowa. She prepares sophisticated wills and trusts for clients, including revocable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), dynasty trusts with generation skipping transfer tax planning, and a variety of charitable planning vehicles. She advises clients on strategies designed to minimize estate, gift, and generation skipping transfer taxes while ensuring efficient multigenerational wealth transfer.
In her practice, she assists business owners with succession planning and drafts buy sell agreements, shareholder agreements, operating agreements, and partnership agreements tailored to each client’s business objectives. She also counsels clients on probate matters, trust administration, gifting techniques, and evolving federal and state tax laws.
Laura is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, Probate, Trust & Estate Planning Law Section, Johnson County Bar Association, Iowa Academy of Trust and Estate Counsel, and the Cedar Rapids Area Estate Planning Council.
