The attorneys recognized are Sarah Moore Johnson, Laura Stone, and Meryl Mathews. This annual directory highlights leading financial planners, tax professionals, insurance specialists, and other financial experts in the Washington region, selected through peer recommendations

Sarah Moore Johnson is a respected leader in the Washington, D.C. estate planning community. Her practice concentrates on estate planning, trust and estate administration, business succession planning, and charitable planning for wealthy individuals and their families. She particularly relishes streamlining and improving existing estate plans, building in tax efficiency and protection from divorce and creditors along the way. Ms. Johnson is an active Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and has been ranked as a top wealth planning attorney by Chambers and Partners, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and the Washingtonian magazine. Many of Sarah’s clients are family offices, entrepreneurs, real estate developers, and art collectors.

Laura Stone has more than 30 years of experience assisting clients with their estate planning (including life insurance and charitable planning), business succession and estate and trust administration. Laura has been recognized numerous times as a Top Estate Attorney in the Washingtonian magazine. Laura uses her extensive knowledge of estate and gift taxes together with her effective communication skills and personable demeanor to provide clients with an understandable, efficient and comfortable experience. Each estate plan is crafted to meet the individual needs of the client while minimizing estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer taxes.
