Stephanie Moll Kriegel

Stephanie Moll Kriegel’s practice focuses on representing clients in estate planning and administration matters, with a focus on wealth transfer tax planning. Stephanie assists clients with their pre-death estate planning and wealth preservation through the creation of wills, revocable trusts, and irrevocable trusts (including irrevocable insurance trusts, intentionally defective irrevocable grantor trusts, beneficiary defective grantor trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, and grantor retained annuity trusts), the use of lifetime gifting, sales to grantor trusts, and closely-held business succession planning.

Stephanie has helped clients further their charitable inclinations by creating charitable trusts and foundations and structuring gifts to donor-advised funds and other charitable entities.

Stephanie also assists clients with post-death trust and probate administration, including preparation and filing of federal estate tax returns and defense of gift and estate tax return audits.

As part of a multi-office team, Stephanie also advises trustees and international families and family offices on the international aspects of U.S. tax matters and asset structuring and succession planning in connection with planning for U.S. beneficiaries or U.S. investments, expatriation from the U.S., pre-immigration tax planning for foreign individuals who plan to become a U.S. tax resident, and related FATCA and CRS compliance matters.

Before attending law school, Stephanie worked as a teacher in various public and private schools in the St. Louis, Missouri area. She brings this experience to her current practice to compassionately discuss complex legal topics with her clients.

Active in the estate planning community, Stephanie was the Founding Chair (2017-2020) of the St. Louis Chapter of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), served as Treasurer (2019 – 2022) of STEP USA and currently serves as Secretary (2022 – present) of STEP USA.

Stephanie previously served on Harrison LLP’s Executive Committee.
