Kimberly Harris-Browns is an associate in the Chicago office of Harrison LLP. She supports clients through the preparation of wills, trusts, and gift tax returns; the use of gifts, sales, and other wealth-transfer strategies; and trust and estate administration, including intestate probate and minor guardianship proceedings.
Prior to her career in law, Kimberly supported the community economic development policies of nonprofit organizations, local governments, and a federal agency in various cities across the country. As an attorney, she continues to focus on both client service and building intergenerational wealth by helping clients direct the disposition of their hard-earned assets during life and at death to the people and causes they hold most dear. Kimberly embraces a compassionate approach to counseling clients by attentively listening to their concerns and wishes, actively seeking to understand their backgrounds and motivations, and ensuring they are knowledgeable and comfortable at every stage of the process.
Additionally, Kimberly works closely with public charities and private foundations on corporate formation and state-level registration, application for state and federal income tax exemption, compliance with tax and governance-related requirements and best practices, and corporate dissolution.
In her spare time, Kimberly loves spending time with family and friends and traveling.
