Marc Schwartz represents clients in the purchase, sale, development, financing, and leasing of commercial, residential, industrial, and office-type real estate in Illinois and nationwide. He has represented and advised clients in complex real estate financing transactions both on the borrower’s and lender’s side of the transactions and has significant experience involving 1031 exchanges.
Marc has represented several large developers and real estate syndicators in the Chicagoland area in the development and financing of properties for retail, office, commercial, and industrial use. He has also assisted clients, both as landlord and as tenant, in complex lease negotiations.
Before joining Harrison LLP in 2007 to lead the firm’s real estate and banking practices, Marc was the managing partner at Laser, Pokorny, Schwartz, Friedman & Economos, P.C.
Active in the community, Marc has served as Chair of the Board of Directors of several area hospitals, including Loyola University Medical Center, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, and MacNeal Hospital. He has also served on the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation Advisory Board and the Chicago Kent College of Law Entrepreneurial Advisory Board, as well as serving as Midwest Regional Director of the Birthright Israel Foundation.
