Marina Makanova is the Chief Executive Officer of Harrison LLP. She offers a wealth of leadership and legal experience to the firm and its clients. As CEO, Marina provides innovative solutions to the firm’s operations, maintains the firm’s collaborative culture, and helps guide the firm’s vision for the future. In addition, Marina works closely with the Executive Committee to set strategy and oversees the firm’s human resources, administration, finance, and information technology departments.
With solid business insights and proven results, Marina advises executive leadership on strategic and operational priorities, drives meaningful innovation and transformation, and advances business and cultural goals. She previously served as the Executive Director for a bi-coastal law firm and the Director of Legal Operations and Innovation at a Big Four accounting firm, where she brought significant innovations to the Office of General Counsel. She was also the firmwide Practice Management Director of a national law firm, managing multiple practice groups.
Marina earned her B.S. from Central Michigan University, M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University, and M.S. from The New School University. She has also completed executive education courses at Harvard Business School and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
