Reynard L. Tanig

Reynard L. Tanig represents clients with their estate planning, probate, and business matters.  Rey has extensive experience in planning and administering estates, including the preparation and filing of estate, inheritance, and gift tax returns, for individuals with assets, heirs, and beneficiaries both in the U.S. and abroad.

With over twenty-five years of experience, he assists U.S. citizens, resident non-citizens, and non-resident non-citizens in preparing various estate planning instruments, such as wills and powers of attorney for property and health care. Rey also assists clients with the formation and administration of trusts, including bypass/credit shelter, marital, special needs, and dynasty trusts.

He has substantial experience with complex and charitable planning, involving irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILIT), qualified domestic trusts (QDOT), qualified personal residence trusts (QPRT), grantor retained annuity trusts (GRAT), charitable lead and remainder trusts (CLT/CRT), private foundations, intentionally defective grantor trusts, and family limited partnerships. He has successfully litigated trust, estate and guardianship disputes in chancery court and probate court and advocated for clients in audits with the Internal Revenue Service and state tax authorities. Rey helps clients with asset protection planning, including the formation of different types of business entities such as corporations and limited liability companies.
