Partner Shawn McCullough will be speaking at the Chicago Estate Planning Council’s Virtual Workshop titled, “Planning with Powers of Appointment and Disclaimers,” on May 29, 2025.
This program will discuss powers of appointment and disclaimers in the drafting process and during trust administration, the foundation of using powers of appointment in drafting, and explore more advanced considerations around asset protection and tax planning. It will also review the impact of powers of appointment on the trust administration process, along with the effective use of disclaimers.
Shawn McCullough concentrates his practice on representing clients in estate planning, trust administration, and probate. He advises clients on implementing estate plans to meet their legacy goals while minimizing their exposure to estate tax liability. In addition to estate planning, Shawn also advises fiduciaries in trust administration and represents executors in probate court.
He is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Chicago Estate Planning Council. Shawn is also a board member and currently serving as the Vice Chair of The Admiral at the Lake Foundation.
