Atlanta, GA, April 01, 2024 – Harrison LLP is thrilled to announce that Kristen Lewis and Emma Barry have joined the firm in its Atlanta, GA office.
Lewis brings decades of experience guiding clients through the special needs estate planning process. Nationally recognized for her work with special needs estates for persons with disabilities, she is a frequent speaker and author on the topic. Additionally, Lewis is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and an active member of the Special Needs Alliance, serving as co-editor of the organization’s monthly e-newsletter, The Voice. She is a faculty member for the annual American Bankers Association Advanced Trust School, and she also regularly presents workshops on special needs trust administration to parents and allied professionals. She has served on the boards of The Bobby Dodd Institute, the Center for the Visually Impaired, Cumberland Academy of Georgia, Eagle Ranch, Wesley Woods Senior Living, and Better Living Together, Inc.
Barry advises clients on special needs estate planning, guardianship, and conservatorship matters. She has extensive experience representing clients in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings in probate courts throughout Georgia, including inter- and intra-state transfers of guardianships and conservatorships, as well as conservatorship planning in the context of a settlement. She serves as a Children’s Legacy Advisor for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She has also served on the boards of nonprofits that work to support persons with disabilities, including, most recently, Better Living Together, Inc.
