Timothy G. Carroll has extensive experience in all phases of estate planning, probate and trust administration, charitable giving techniques, and estate and gift tax audit practice. He represents individuals, families, foundations, fiduciaries, and corporate executives.
A Chicago native, Tim graduated with honors from Loyola University. At Loyola he was inducted in Alpha Sigma Nu, a national honor fraternity. He received his law degree magna cum laude from the University of Illinois law school, where he served on Law Review, ranked fourth in his graduating class, and was inducted as a member of the Order of the Coif. Following graduation, he served as judicial clerk to Justice James C. Craven of the Illinois Appellate Court.
Prior to founding Carroll & Wall, Tim was a partner in the Trust and Estates Practice Group at Winston & Strawn. He has served on the faculty of the Masters of Taxation and LLM Program of DePaul University College of Law.
Tim regularly represents estates before the Internal Revenue Service. He also frequently serves as guardian ad litem in guardianship and probate matters.
He is a noted author and lecturer. He has served on his local school board, park district, plan commission and on the boards of various charitable organizations.
